Now that autumn has arrived it’s time to keep your immunity strong with boosting your vitamin intake.
This berry bonanza is particularly rich in Vitamin C, which is an essential dietary component as our bodies cannot manufacture it.
In this recipe I’ve included a mixture of berries, as well as red- and blackcurrents, which gives nutritional diversity as well as a fuller flavour.
This smoothie is also full of fibre which not only feeds the good bacteria in our gut, but also helps remove any harboured excess waste… Another immune boosting bonus!
Here’s the recipe;
🍓1 handful of berries (frozen or fresh)
🍓1 apple (cut into quarters and cored)
🍓1 handful of kale (remove the stalks)
🍓1 cup of oat milk (I use Rude Health)
🍓1 teaspoon of baobab powder (I use Aduna)
Optional extra; 1 teaspoon of cacao powder
Pop into a blender (JTC omniblend is what I use) and whizz until your desired consistency.
*If you’re using fresh berries you may want to add a couple of ice cubes
